 3
different ways to improve a 1000 Laverda:

1- Case of my 1977 1000 3CL: the "invisible" improvements (or so...)
In
this case, my purpose was to improve the bike without affecting the original look.

Then I made the choice to improve all the things which seemed to me to must be
improved, keeping in mind to let to the bike its look
 and its well-tempered
character.

2- Case of the Doug Home
1975 1000: The maximal tuning for open roads!

The project of Doug was clearly to go to the absolute summit of a Laverda
1000 tuning for a road use.
Then, the technical choices were selected to get
the maximal power from the engine and the best handling, even if it is necessay
to build
new special parts.
The look is deeply affected because the technical
choices couldn't cope with the original basis.
 The performances and the handling
are close to the best modern sport bikes.

3- Case of the Patrick Kan triple: The racing bike in all its splendour!
The
Patrick choice was clear: Race a 1000 Laverda in the P2 unlimited class!

In this case, the technical choices are imposed by the track and the maximal efficiency.
Make a lighter bike, get the max power from the
engine, it is a constant research
of the best performances.
